My wife and I took our teen to a concert tonight. The performer was a British musician who goes by bo en, along with Kikuo, a wild-looking DJ in a mask and a wig that looks like the old soothsayer from The Dark Crystal, and another performer who used two different aliases, calling himself Gus Bonito vs. Kane West. We were, by a factor of three, the oldest people there. I’m making none of this up.
It was your typical night of dance music, neon, kids with septum piercings dressed up like cats, and lots of that move where they hold their hands up to make hearts.
By far, though, my favorite spot of the night was a young woman in a spiky collar shooting 3D video of the performance on a Nintendo 3DS. Thats the kind of detail that Tom Wolfe couldn’t have thought up.
